Playa Vista is a neighborhood on the Westside of Los Angeles, located just north of Los Angeles International Airport and adjacent to Marina del Rey and the Ballona Wetlands. Its modern form is recent: the roughly 1,000-acre site was long the headquarters of Hughes Aircraft Company, which operated there from 1941 to 1985 and built the Hughes H-4 Hercules "Spruce Goose" on the property.
